About Me
Electric Guitar
I was self taught at the age of 13, learning to play along with rock bands such as Guns & Roses, Aerosmith and Metallica. After hearing Jimi Hendrix’s records I was hooked. I also developed a love for the blues, listening to artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winters and The Allman Brothers. By the age of 17 I was gigging in rock and blues bands around London.
Acoustic Guitar
Led Zepplin’s Jimmy Page opened my ears to the acoustic guitar, and I started seeking out his influences – Bert Jansch, Roy Harper, Big Bill Broonzy and Davy Graham. I developed a deft fingerstyle technique to play their music, and discovered a whole world of Folk, Blues and Traditional Music.
Classical Guitar
I didn’t pick up classical guitar until my 20s, but ended up studying classical guitar performance at one of London’s leading music conservatories, Trinity College of Music. I travelled across Europe attending masterclasses with some of the best guitarists in the world. I was lucky enough to study under Graham Anthony Devine and Charles Ramirez.
